Epic Camp: New Zealand 2009


EC:NZ’09 is set to commence from Christchurch on Saturday 31st January 2009.

The Route:

We will make our way from Christchurch north via the inland route before heading east across to Kaikoura. From hear we continue north to Nelson and across to the Golden Bay Region. The route will take in the majestic Kaikoura coastline, the rugged but beautiful Golden Bay region as well as the Abel Tasman National Park.

  • Gordo Byrn, Winner Ultraman Hawaii, Bestselling Author and Coach
  • John Newsom, Elite triathlete and Coach
  • 20 age-group slots available

Camp Date: Saturday 31st January to Monday 9th February

Start: Christchurch, New Zealand

Finish: Nelson, New Zealand

Schedule:

  • All athletes arrive Christchurch, New Zealand in time for welcome dinner on Saturday, 31st January, 2009
  • An early season, volume-oriented training camp for athletes serious about their commitment to athletic excellence
  • Epic Training starts Saturday, 31st January, 2009
  • At least 1000kms of cycling around New Zealand’s South Island
  • Swim and run every day
  • Time Trials and Special “Events” to keep it interesting

Cost: US$2,450 – Includes everything but Mercy

  • Airport pick-up at Christchurch International Airport
  • Airport drop off at Nelson Airport
  • Accommodation from Sunday, 7 January to Sunday, 21 January (14 nights)
  • Accommodation from Saturday, 31st January to Monday, 9th February (9 nights)
  • Accommodation will be a mix of motels, lodges and serviced apartments
